Aylesbury College is delighted to be working in partnership with the Health and Social Care services team at Buckinghamshire County Council and Bucks New University to offer a clear training pathway and skills pipeline into a rewarding career in Social Work.
By working together we are providing a highly qualified locally trained workforce that is directly aligned to local needs in regard to social work and providing the highest quality service to communities across Buckinghamshire.
- The Bucks Social Work academy will provide a one-stop, employer-led, high quality centre of excellence for the training of social workers in Buckinghamshire.
- The Centre supports the training of those currently working in the sector and also promotes a careers pathway for school leavers into the profession and provides an entry route for adults wanting a career change.
- The offer ranges from entry level through to master’s, including full, part-time and work-based delivery models.
Taking a local partnership approach to regional skills demands is enabling Bucks County Council, Aylesbury College and Bucks New University to work collaboratively, offering a unique and bespoke solution to local skills shortages in social work.
This investment in social workers and Social Care workers supports the Council’s improvement journey and its key goals of achieving higher quality services across Buckinghamshire.
