How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by a mixture of exams, projects and practical-based assessments.

Entry requirements

A full Level 3 qualification or equivalent such as A-levels. Minimum 160 UCAS points with passes in maths and English at GCSE. For mature students, relevant industry experience can be taken into account. An existing job in IT is helpful but not essential.

Additional information

Students will be required to undertake 300 hours of work placement in the second year of the course.

Progression

A Foundation Degree is a standalone qualification that will give you access to work in the IT industry, or you can apply through UCAS to top-up your qualification with an additional full-time year at university to achieve a full Bachelor’s Degree.

Career opportunities

An FD Computing qualification will open up opportunities for entry into graduate jobs in roles such as programming, software engineering, web design or web programming.
