Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a part of the exciting and vibrant Hair and Media Make up industry? – Well you have the chance to learn how to fulfil those ambitions. Projects could include designing looks for Films and TV, learning make up skills for every day looks or hair styling for photo sessions. You will learn excellent underpinning skills which will allow you to move onto your next level.

This is a practical based course with ongoing assessment throughout. There will be essential theory which underpins the practical tasks set. In addition to your study programme, work experience is also encouraged to get a feel for the industry you will eventually work in.

How will I be assessed?
We have an excellent range of commercial salons based on what you would expect to see in industry. These provide the perfect environment for your assessments which will be a range of assessment types from formal client based to less formal observations.
You will need to dress appropriately - details will be discussed with you during your interview. You will also need to participate in tasks whereby there is a model and artist interaction - you could play the part of either. All trips will require you to attend as this is an essential part of the study programme. There will also be a few opportunities throughout the year to participate in open evenings and you will be expected to play a part.
