Level 2 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care

Introduction

We are the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care using a mixed delivery model, with day release and also observation of practical sessions in the workplace. This apprenticeship is for learners who are employed within the health and social care sectors, in roles such as community support, care worker, outreach worker, domiciliary care worker and personal assistant. This is a work-based qualification which covers the skills and knowledge needed to care for others in a broad range of health and social care settings. It is flexible to suit all fields of health and social care. We pride ourselves on our industry-standard facilities and the outstanding support we deliver for apprentices and employers.

What will I learn?

This qualification is ideal for school leavers at 16+ who have a proven interest in the area. This course will help you develop the skills and knowledge for the sector at an intermediate level.

How will I be assessed?

You will need to gather evidence to demonstrate your competence. Assessment is continuous, based on assignments, practical work and workplace performance. You will be assigned an assessor who will support and guide you throughout your apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

You must be working in the industry and have (or be prepared to apply for) a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

Additional information

You will complete functional skills of Maths and English at Level 1, BTEC Cert Level 2, Diploma in Health and Social Care and ERR certificate. You need to be employed for at least 30 hours per week and be able to attend workshops/tutorials with your assessor. To gain this qualification, you need to show you have a particular set of skills. You will work with your assessor to identify your current skills and find the best way to gain new skills.

Progression

On successful completion of the Level 2 course, you can progress onto the Health and Social Care Level 3 course.
