Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing

Introduction

We are the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver this apprenticeship using the day release model. This means that you will work for 4 days a week and attend college for one day a week. We pride ourselves on our industry-standard facilities and the outstanding support we deliver for apprentices and their employers.

This is a rolling programme and you can start at any time.

Where can I study?

What will I learn?

This qualification is for people already working as a stylist within a salon. You will be trained in different creative hair techniques and work on external clients. This is a practical based course and you will receive ongoing assessment on your practical skills. There will be theory which underpins the practical knowledge. In addition to your study programme, work experience within a salon is highly recommended and will lead to job opportunities.

How will I be assessed?

You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial salon environment. You will collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects, tests, quizzes, demonstrations and presentations.

Entry requirements

All applicants will be required to attend an interview. You will also be required to have an apprenticeship in a hair salon, completed a Level 2 in Hairdressing and a satisfactory employer reference.

Additional information

You should already have a hair kit which needs to include a variety of styling tools including scissors. A uniform will be required so that you are presenting a professional image at all times and a course text book will be invaluable for home study. During your year of study the will also have opportunities to participate in workshops, trips and exhibitions.

Progression

You can study at university or further study within Hairdressing, Barbering or Media.

Career opportunities

This programme is designed to allow you to progress into Senior Stylist or management roles within Hairdressing salons.
