Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling - Jan Start

Introduction

This qualification is for counsellors who have acquired the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or its equivalent. Practitioners will develop their knowledge and skills of counselling and psychotherapeutic counselling. This course is also for practitioners who want to establish and maintain an appropriate framework for independent practice, practice as a senior counsellor within an agency, and carrying out client assessments (including identifying and referring clients with severe and complex mental health needs). This course will help prepare practitioners working toward accreditation with BACP, NCS, UKCP or other professional bodies.

What will I learn?

Psychotherapeutic Counselling is the intentional use of the relationship to address areas of distress and disturbance of clients. The modalities included in this course are intended to increase the depth of knowledge and personal awareness required to work at a deeper level with clients, within a professional framework where the necessary skills and training will equip participants in their work.

Learning reviews, written assignments, client record, clinical supervision,records, personal counselling records, and tutor observation.

Entry requirements

This course has been mapped by CPCAB to UKCP requirements and combined with TC-L4 offers a pathway for individual practitioner accreditation with UKCP as an Accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.

Additional information

This course will run from January 2019 to November 2019 on alternate Fridays 9.30 - 3pm with two 30 minutes tutorials before or after the lesson. It is not intended that all concepts presented on the course will form part of your resulting integration into your practice, rather that you will be exposed to a number of valuable aspects that will give opportunity for further research and integration into your way of being as an independent practitioner.
