Microsoft Office applications are used commonly in many different workplace, as well as home, environments, from typing letters to doing regular budgeting tasks and stylishly presenting holiday / family photographs through to mail merges, financial calculations and boardroom presentations. In today’s technological society it is useful to have a basic understanding and experience of using some of Microsoft’s main applications. At Aylesbury Campus we have chosen three of the most popular and in-demand applications and created a course that is designed to give people a basic grounding in each them. Two 2 hour taught sessions each in Word, Excel and PowerPoint which focus on getting you up and running on the latest versions of these applications.

What will I learn?
Essentially you will be studying Microsoft Word for 2 weeks – each consisting of 2 hours of study at the College – followed by 2 weeks of Microsoft Excel and then 2 weeks of Microsoft PowerPoint. The aim is to give learners a fundamental grounding in the use of the applications so they feel comfortable with using them either personally and / or in their place of work,

|Applying Borders and shading to text boxes and tables|
|Creating and formatting charts|
|Working with images, illustrations and media|
A basic familiarity with computers; access to Microsoft office (version 2010 and above); a basic familiarity with word processing techniques, with spreadsheet layouts and how they can be used to perform calculations and analysis of data.

This course will next be running from 10th Oct 2018 and 20th Feb 2019
You may wish to complete a MOS qualification in another Microsoft package. Alternatively, you could progress to the Microsoft Office Expert Certification in Word or Excel.
The MOS certification is a great addition to your CV and will support you in any administration based role.
