  • Outdoor First Aid (2 Days)

    Outdoor First Aid

    Be prepared to respond in remote and challenging environments.

    This two-day Outdoor First Aid course is designed for anyone working or spending time outdoors, where emergency services may be delayed. You’ll learn how to assess situations quickly, make safe decisions and provide effective first aid with limited resources.

    Through practical, scenario-based training, you’ll build the confidence to manage real-life emergencies in outdoor settings such as countryside, mountains, parks or remote worksites.


    What You’ll Learn

    On this course, you’ll develop essential outdoor first aid skills, including how to:

    • Assess an incident scene and manage risks in outdoor environments
    • Respond to someone who has collapsed, with or without breathing
    • Perform CPR safely outside of a clinical setting
    • Treat serious injuries to the chest, abdomen, arms and legs
    • Stabilise fractures, sprains and environmental injuries such as hypothermia
    • Manage illness and provide care until emergency services arrive

    This course is delivered through hands-on, practical training designed to reflect real outdoor situations.

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)

    Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

    This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is ideal for low-risk environments such as offices, shops and care settings. It provides the core knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with accidents, injuries and sudden illness until professional help arrives.

  • First Aid at Work (3 Days)

    First Aid at Work (FAW) Qualification (Blended Learning)

    Build the knowledge and confidence to respond to a wide range of workplace emergencies.

    This three-day First Aid at Work course is designed for higher-risk environments such as construction, engineering, manufacturing and industrial settings. It provides in-depth training to help you manage serious injuries, medical conditions and emergency situations effectively.

    You’ll develop advanced, practical first aid skills that prepare you to take control in real-life situations and support others until professional help arrives.


    What You’ll Learn

    On this course, you’ll gain the skills to:

    • Carry out primary and secondary surveys to assess casualties
    • Perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
    • Respond to unresponsive casualties safely
    • Control severe bleeding and manage shock
    • Treat burns, wounds and other serious injuries
    • Stabilise fractures, dislocations and suspected spinal injuries
    • Manage eye injuries, chest injuries and crush injuries
    • Recognise and respond to medical conditions, including:
      • Asthma
      • Heart attacks and cardiac arrest
      • Stroke
      • Epilepsy
      • Diabetes
      • Anaphylaxis
    • Record and report incidents correctly in the workplace

    Basic Life Saving & AED

    Learn how to act quickly and confidently in a life-threatening emergency.

    This half-day Basic Life Saving and AED course is ideal for anyone who wants to gain essential first aid skills. You’ll learn how to respond to incidents such as cardiac arrest, choking and unresponsiveness, giving you the confidence to step in and help when it matters most.


    What You’ll Learn

    On this course, you’ll learn how to:

    Paediatric First Aid (blended)

    Our Paediatric First Aid course equips you with essential skills to handle medical emergencies involving children.     Our combined Asthma Awareness and Anaphylaxis Awareness course provides essential knowledge and practical skills to manage both asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies.

HealthTec Industry Upskilling Courses

 

  • Manual Handling (Half-day)

    Manual Handling

    In 2014/15 9.5 million working days were lost due to work-related musculoskeletal disorders!  Manual handling is the most common cause of lost-time injuries in the workplace. This Level 2 qualification raises awareness of the risks and the controls available.

    Qualification content includes how manual handling can cause harm; duties of employers and employees in relation to manual handling; the consequences for non-compliance with requirements; the terms ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’ in the context of manual handling; the process for carrying out a manual handling risk assessment; The principle of the risk control hierarchy in relation to manual handling; safe movement principles associated with manual handling; equipment designed to be used for manual handling; requirements for testing, servicing and examination of equipment.
