Health and Social Care Students Visit Fremantle Court

Health and Social Care Students Visit Fremantle Court

Level 2 Health and Social Care Students recently visited Fremantle Court in Aylesbury, a registered charity providing first class care and support services for older people and adults with a learning disability.

Students were there to experience a day within a care setting.  During the visit they were taken on a tour of the facility and took part in many activities with residents including Tai Chi and Painting with pastels.  In the afternoon they learnt about Dementia and explored career opportunities in the Health and Social Care sector.

Throughout the trip, students had the opportunity to see what it would be like to work within a caring environment and to talk to some of the residents. By experiencing the facility first hand they were able see what working life is about, understand how the facility is run and what expertise is needed to make it a success.

Students found the trip particularly enlightening with comments such as, “I found the day truly inspiring,” to “I loved the environment, how friendly everyone was and meeting the residents”.
