Performing Arts students studying the FdA in Musical Theatre and BA (Hons) Musical Theatre courses at the Amersham Campus will be performing a shortened, re-visioned version of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most-loved opera, The Mikado, at the Network Theatre in Waterloo, London on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th May.
With a sparkling new choreography and a cast of five women, farce and vulnerability collide, as the citizens of Titipu try to control their desires and keep their heads, in the darkest of times, ruled as they are by a smooth-talking tyrant. In this high-energy production, the whole theatre becomes the performers’ stage, while the live orchestra eerily plays on.
This final production by completing students traditionally takes place at a venue in the capital to give students a flavour of London’s buzzing theatreland and the opportunity and experience to play to live paying audiences.
Tickets are priced at £10 each or £7 when booking four or more. Concessions and students are £5 and tickets can be purchased from www.networktheatre.org or can be reserved at email@example.com.
Performances run on Friday 25th May at 7.30pm and Saturday 26th May at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Network Theatre, 246A Lower Road, Waterloo SE1 8SJ.
