Buckinghamshire Health & Social Care Academy (BHSCA)
Inspiring the Next Generation of Health, Social Care and Dental Professionals. Based at Buckinghamshire College Group's HealthTec facilities, BHSCA offers engaging, hands-on experiences designed to bring health and care careers to life. Sessions are delivered by experienced staff in realistic learning environments, helping students explore career pathways before making future education and career choices.
Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) Ward Experience Programme
An immersive introduction to healthcare careers where students rotate between our simulated ward and HealthTec learning environment. Activities include ward simulations, infection control, anatomy challenges, healthcare technology and age simulation exercises, providing an exciting insight into the world of healthcare.
Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) Healthcare Experience
Students take part in patient assessment activities, clinical simulations and allied health profession workshops while exploring NHS career pathways and progression routes into healthcare education, apprenticeships and employment.
Social Care Experience
A practical introduction to social care featuring dementia simulation, care planning, assistive technology and independent living activities. Students discover careers across residential, community and supported living services.
Dental Discovery Programme
A specialist dental careers session introducing oral health promotion, preventative dentistry, tooth anatomy and practical dental activities. Students will explore career pathways into dental nursing, dental hygiene, dentistry and dental technology.
