Buckinghamshire College Group is fully committed to the inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs Disabilities (SEND) and developing their independence in preparation for adult life.
We work closely with students, families and local authorities to make sure our courses are the right fit – taking into account each student’s age, abilities and goals. We also make sure that we’re providing a positive learning experience for everyone and using resources in a way that helps all our students succeed.
Our aim is to provide the right support at the right time, so every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our Study Programmes include a mix of:
- Vocational training
- English and Maths (where required)
- Digital skills
- Work experience
- Career mentoring and vocational guidance
- Regular tutorials and personal development sessions
Applying with SEND
Students with SEND are encouraged to apply for any of our courses. Entry requirements are in place to ensure you’re ready for the level of study and can succeed in your chosen subject. These are set by awarding bodies and shaped by the expectations of industry.
If you have an EHCP, your application will go through a consultation process in collaboration with the local authority to confirm that we can meet your needs and provide the support required. Buckinghamshire College Group is committed to ensuring equal access to opportunities and inclusive learning underpins all that we do.
Through the College application process, you will be able to let us know about any additional needs you may have. This will help us identify and plan how we can support you.
Part of the Local Offer
Buckinghamshire College Group is proud to be part of the Buckinghamshire SEND Local Offer, a county-wide programme that outlines the education, health and care support available for young people aged 0–25 with SEND.
The Local Offer aims to:
- Provide clear, accessible information about local services
- Ensure young people with SEND, and their families, help shape how support is delivered
- Connect families to relevant support in education, healthcare and social care
