The Access Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification for adults who aspire to go to university. It is an intense one year programme which will ensure the learner gains study skills and ICT skills to enable them to cope with a higher education environment. There are three diploma routes.
Social Sciences Dipolma For learners who want to go into Social Work, Social Care or study towards a Social Sciences degree.
Healthcare Diploma For learners who want to pursue a career in Nursing, Midwifery, Mental health and other health related professions.
Humanities Diploma This is for learners who are interested in a primary school teaching career or a Humanities Degree.
Each diploma has core units like study skills and ICT . In addition units in the following disciplines are covered: Human Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Law and English Politics.

How will I be assessed?
Continual assessment and a portfolio of evidence at the end of the course. There maybe some internal tests as part of the course.

Entry Requirements
You must have a GCSE grade 4(C) or above in English & Maths.
All applicants will be interviewed to ensure that the course is the right choice based on previous educational and work experience. Entry to the course will depend on the outcome of the interview, a English and Maths assesment and a satisfactory reference.
This course is for students aged 19+
