This is a two-year course for students interested in a career within graphic design, advertising & marketing and photography. The course is equivalent to three A-levels, which will allow progression to University and the workplace. The intention of this course is to prepare students for the creative industries, be that within a digital environment or a print-based industry but using digital methods of production.
Students will look at , graphic design, design for print media/digital media, studio and location photography, product photography, macro photography, lighting techniques, composition, interactive design, app design, photo editing, using graphics tablets, digital illustration techniques and motion design.

What will I learn?
The qualification is accredited by the highly regarded University of the Arts London (UAL) and helps students to develop a creative and effective working methodology to react positively and creatively across a range of assignments and creative activities. You will develop a diverse portfolio of creative work. The course aims to develop you to become a whole creative who is able to produce work in a variety of modern digital and printed mediums with the skill expected by future employers and higher education. Practical work includes simulated briefs and course-related visits. You need to be able to work independently and you are required to carry out approximately 15 hours of homework a week.
In the second year of the extended programme, you will be able to improve upon the skills developed from year one through specialist briefs with industry lead outcomes.

Entry Requirements
A minimum of four GCSE passes including English Language, Maths and a creative subject. For entry we are currently accepting a grade 4 (C) as a pass.
Alternatively, we will accept a full Level 2 qualification at Merit grade or above providing English Language and Maths have been passed. All applicants must bring a portfolio of work to their interview to be considered for the course. .

Progression & Career Opportunities
You could continue onto a Foundation Degree or BA Degree in this vocational area or in related sectors. Many students go on to have a career in graphic design, motion graphics, UX/UI design and commercial photography. This course is designed to allow you to enter positions in the Creative Industry with a skillset that will enable you to work effectively and creatively.
