This is an intensive one year diagnostic art and design course for students who have recently completed A-levels or a BTEC Extended Diploma in an art and design subject.

What will I learn?
This course is designed to give students the maximum opportunity to extend their creative ideas, learn specialist art and design skills and therefore enable progression to the next step, which could be either Higher Education or the workplace. Students will benefit from the considerable experience of the course team and an excellent range of art and design facilities.

How will I be assessed?
The course comprises a series of course work briefs, for which you will be given written feedback (preliminary units are awarded at pass grade only). The course culminates in a Final Major Project which is assessed at Pass/Merit/Distinction.

Entry Requirements
Either 1 x A-Level at grade C or above or a BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design at grade MMM or above. This is to be supported by four GCSEs (graded 4 or above and including maths and English). A portfolio of artwork showing creative potential and skill and ability in using different artistic media will need to be presented at interview.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Students can progress from this course to Higher Education courses in Art and Design subjects or into employment in a creative field.
