The Hair and Beauty industry is a very exciting and dynamic sector of employment and offers a variety of career options. This programme will equip you with the skills required to become a beauty therapist. It is a practical-based course and you will be assessed on your competency to perform treatments. The theoretical knowledge underpins the practical skills.

What will I learn?
You will gain a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills, equipping you with knowledge and understanding. You will also develop a range of techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for gaining employment within the industry.

How will I be assessed?
You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial working environment. You will also collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects and tests.

Entry Requirements
At least 1 GCSE grade 4-9 (A-C) ideally in maths or English and/or Level 1 Beauty Therapy.

Progression & Career Opportunities
The direct progression from this programme would be any of the NVQ Level 3 Diplomas in Beauty Therapy. Positions which would be open to you will include Beautician or Beauty Consultant.

Additional Information
Students will need to purchase a Beauty and make-up kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately £300. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of £100.
