The Level 2 qualification combines theory elements alongside practical skills which will lead to an exciting new career.

What will I learn?
This is a practical based course and you will receive ongoing assessment on your skills. You will gain a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills, equipping you with knowledge and understanding. There will be theory which underpins the practical knowledge. In addition to your study programme, you can be working in a salon or spa performing Beauty treatments.You will also develop a range of techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for gaining employment within the industry.

How will I be assessed?
You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial salon environment with external paying clients. You will collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects, tests, quizzes, demonstrations and presentations.

Entry Requirements
All applicants will be required to attend an interview. Students must have a work placement in a relevant environment for the duration of the course.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Upon completion of this programme you can gain employment in one of the many sectors of the beauty industry. Further study at Level 3 Beauty Therapy or Make-Up Artistry, there is also the opportunity to progress onto higher education.
Positions include mobile freelance Therapist, self-employed Therapist, Beauty Therapist within spas, salons, hotels, cruise liners and international opportunities are also available.

Additional Information
Students will need to purchase a Beauty and make-up kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately £300. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of £100.
