The Beauty industry is a very exciting and dynamic sector of employment and offers a variety of career options. This programme will equip you with the skills to be able to practice as a Complementary Therapist as it is both theory and practical based. This will allow you to recognise the effects of holistic treatments.
What will I learn?
This is a practical based course and you will receive ongoing assessment on your practical skills. There will be theory which underpins the practical knowledge. In addition to your study programme, you can be working in a salon or spa performing Holistic treatments.

How will I be assessed?
You will carry out a range of practical assessments and case studies. You will collate theoretical evidence in the form of case studies, assignments, projects, tests, quizzes, demonstrations and presentations.
All applicants will be required to attend an interview and have achieved a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Salon experience would be very beneficial.
Progression & Career Opportunities
Upon completion of this programme you can gain employment in one of the many sectors of the Holistic industry. Further study at higher education level such as Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture and Remedial Massage. Positions include mobile freelance Holistic Therapist, self-employed Holistic Therapist, employment within spas, salons, hotels, cruise liners and international opportunities are also available. Further opportunities for career advancement are available with further study such as Spa Management, Teaching and Assessing or Sales Manager roles.
You will be required to purchase a complementary kit which will include everything you need to start your career in the industry. A uniform will be required so that you are presenting a professional image at all times and a course text book will be invaluable for home study. During your year of study the will also be opportunities to participate in workshops, trips and exhibitions. Please note that within your timetable there may be a late night lesson until 9pm.
