What will I learn?
This Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) programme is designed for those who require a wider perspective of the organisational issues facing human resource professionals. It will also allow you to develop effective analytical and problem solving techniques.
This course will give you a thorough insight into the principles and practices of HR that you will be able to utilise in the workplace and in everyday life. How will I be assessed?
Each module is assessed by an individual assignment/report or presentation.
Ideally the Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice or the earlier Certificate in Personnel Practice. If not, a Level 3 qualification and suitable experience of working in HR. This will be assessed at interview. In addition a good standard of English and maths is necessary.
Progression & Career Opportunities
Studying additional modules the following year will allow you to upgrade this qualification to a Diploma in HRM. You may be able to undertake a Masters in Human Resource Management and become a Chartered Member of the CIPD. You will be able to consider a number of positions in Human Resource Management.
Cost of Study
This programme is run on Wednesday evenings (5-9pm) at Wycombe campus and Thursday afternoon at Aylesbury campus (1.30-5.30pm). Membership of the CIPD is required. On successful completion of this course students will be eligible to apply for Associate Membership of the CIPD, which is the first level of professional membership of the CIPD.
There will be an additional Saturday workshop twice a year. You will be expected to put in an additional 6 hours study per week at home.
Aylesbury Only - Following successful completion of this course you will have the option to return the following academic year to complete two further units and gain the Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management.
