This qualification will develop the knowledge and skills required when working with food in health and social care and early years and childcare settings.
This course is suitable for anyone who may be preparing for a new role, or is working in a role that involves handling food safely and supporting an individual with their nutrition and hydration needs.
The Award in Promoting Food Safety and Nutrition requires 8 credits to complete.

How will I be assessed?
It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
At least one GCSE in either maths or English graded between 9-4 (A-C). You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
Progression & Career Opportunities
You can progress on to a Level 2 or 3 Health and Social Care qualification or Early Years Educator qualifications depending on your chosen career path.
