This qualifications aim is to provide an introduction to the early development of the brain in babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age. It looks at how the social brain develops, the limbic system and self-regulation.

  • What will I learn?

    The objectives of this qualification are to: support learners to gain undestanding of neuroscience in Early Years, and support the Practitioner role.

  • Example modules

    Understanding neuroscience in early years

  • How will I be assessed?

    There will be an internally assessed portfolio of evidence which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE.

  • Entry Requirements

    Applicants must already be working in the Early Years sector.

  • Progression & Career Opportunities

    This qualification doesnt lead to a specific job role but it provides continued professional development of new knowledge and skills and supports the Practitioner role inthe workplace.

    Also, when undertaken in conjunction with our Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner, it provides an overall package that allows for further progression in the early years sector.
