This course is for second year students only. You must be an existing student with Buckinghamshire College Group and must be currently studying the first year of this diploma. For new students, please see T Levels.
This diploma in Childcare and Education gives learners an understanding of early years childcare of children from birth to 5 years and further knowledge of children 5 - 7 years. Please note that when you apply for this course you will be applying for the first year, which is known as a 90 Credit Diploma.
What will I learn?
This qualification prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years. Upon achievement of this qualification learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

How will I be assessed?
Real work environment performance and assignments. 750 hours of placement over 2 years in relevant childcare settings is required.
A minimum of 4 GCSE passes including English and Maths. We are accepting a grade 4 (C). Alternatively we will accept a full Level 2 qualification at Merit grade or above including GCSE English and maths.

All students will spend 2 days a week in a work placement
