This course will be of great interest to those who are planning a career in working with young children or who already work in a range of settings within Early Years. This course will be running at our Aylesbury Campus and is awarded by Buckinghamshire New University.

What will I learn?
Foundation Degrees are designed to provide learning and professional development opportunities for adults who are currently either employed or working on a voluntary basis. This course meets the real needs of people working in an early years setting. The Foundation Degree can be completed in two years of study with part-time attendance supplemented by learning in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?
A range of assessment methods will be used, including written assignments, examinations, evidence-based portfolios and work-based project files.

Entry Requirements
Level 3 Childcare qualification. You should be working with children aged 0 - 5 years in a supervisory position and have at least three years experience post-qualification. Places will be subject to an interview.

Progression & Career Opportunities
After successfully completing this course you could study for the one-year top-up to a full honours degree wiith Buckinghamshire New University. A typical mature graduate may wish to use the Degree for progression to obtain status in teaching or childcare careers.

You will spend 7 hours per week at the Aylesbury Campus. There is an expectation of additional reading/study in your own time.
