This course is part of the government-backed Lifetime Skills Guarantee scheme, which enables you to retrain, upskill or make a career change thanks to the £95 million National Skills Fund.
These courses are aimed at those who are committed to the development of children from early years to upper school. Careers could include Teaching Assistant roles at Primary or Upper School level, as well as childcare roles.
This certificate in Childcare and Education gives learners an understanding of early years childcare of children from birth to 5 years and further knowledge of children 5 - 7 years.
What will I learn?
The Technical Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education prepares learners to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
In order to achieve the Technical Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education learners must achieved a pass grade D or above in all unit assessments for 7 mandatory units and achieve a pass grade D or above for the externally set, externally assessed assessment CCE1.

How will I be assessed?
Real work environment performance and assignments.
The formal entry requirements are: a minimum of 4 GCSE passes including English and Maths. We are accepting a grade 4 (C). Alternatively we will accept a full Level 2 qualification at Merit grade or above including GCSE English and maths.
Life and work experience will be taken into consideration for students who do not meet these requirements. Students must be over19 and must NOT have previously attained a level 3 qualification.

Progression can follow onto our Foundation (FdA) in Early Years. Careers include: Nanny, Nursery Nurse, Teaching Assistant
Cost of Study
This is a free course for anyone who meets the entry requirements. No evidence of finances will be required.
This courses will run from September with taster sessions in June.
