We are the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver this apprenticeship using the mixed delivery model. Students work full time in the workplace and attend college for a monthly evening workshop. Evening maths, English and ICT lessons may be required in addition to the workshops. We pride ourselves on our industry-standard facilities and the outstanding support we deliver for apprentices and employers.

  • What will I learn?

    This qualification is ideal for school leavers at 16+ who have a proven interest in the area. This qualification gives apprentices the opportunity to develop and demonstrate competence in working as part of the children and young peoples workforce, in roles such as: assistants in childrens centres, day nurseries, nursery schools and nursery classes, nursery nurses, care workers and registered childminders. Apprenties will develop technical skills and knowledge and understanding related to the specified job roles and will achieve a nationally-recognised Level 2 qualification.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Assessment is continuous, based on assignments, practical work and workplace performance.

  • Entry Requirements

    Apprentices should be at least 16 years old and working in a suitable setting for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

  • Progression & Career Opportunities

    Progression to the Level 3 Diploma, Advanced apprenticeship: Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education & Care, Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools and other related qualifications in the sector. Potential job roles include; Assistant in Children's Centre, Assistant in Day Nurseries, Nursery Schools and Nursery Classes, Assistant Playgroup Worker, Assistant in Reception classes, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, Nursery Nurse, Registered Child-minder, Registered Nanny or Youth and Community Worker.

  • Additional Information

    As part of the apprenticeship you will be required to complete, Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR). For applicants with English and maths at D or below, you will be required to complete Functional Skills - Application of Number, ICT and Literacy.
