This qualification develops the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child. There is a choice of units from setting a routine through to healthy lifestyles and the importance of play and learning.

  • What will I learn?

    This qualification does not qualify you to work but does support you in preparing for your next steps either in training or moving towards work.

  • Example modules

    • Confidence building for the young child through play
    • Listening to and talking with a young child
    • Providing a safe and hygienic environment for a young child.
  • How will I be assessed?

    It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks, course work or methods such as oral questioning.
