Digital skills student Charlotte Smale-Holland came 3rd out of 30,000 people from colleges and universities across the UK and Ireland in the Microsoft Office Specialist Championships.
Throughout her time at Buckinghamshire College Group, Charlotte thrived on her Digital Skills course and gained scores of 962/1000 for the Microsoft Office 2016 exam, 935 in the Microsoft PowerPoint exam and 800 in the Microsoft Excel exam. Digital skills is a core part of the study programme for students who have successfully completed English and Mathematics GCSE. The aim of the programme is to help students develop industry related skills, which are then formally recognised by software providers.
With thanks to her amazing scores, Charlotte received an exciting phone call from Microsoft; she had been invited to participate in the Microsoft Office Specialist Championships as one of 30,000 people from colleges and universities across UK and Ireland. With her determination and desire to have a future career with Microsoft, Charlotte worked hard and qualified for the MOS Certification Final and came 3rd out of the 30,000 people and achieved her highest score of 950/1000 in her PowerPoint Exam.
Charlotte said ‘My favourite thing about having a certificate/digital badge in the Microsoft Program is that it can help me be recognized by different employers from computing sectors’. ‘I feel like my life has changed for the better, as my journey of working in the computing industry has finally begun…I feel so proud of myself, as if I am stuck in an amazing never-ending dream’
All of us at Buckinghamshire College Group would like to congratulate Charlotte on her outstanding achievement, and wish her all the luck with her future studies and career. Well done Charlotte!
