An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.
This apprenticeship would suit someone with a proven interest in IT who is technically minded and experienced with Software, Networking and PC Hardware with a positive attitude with a keen eye for problem solving and customer service.
What will I learn?
You will learn to help users and organisations to maximise the use of technology through remote and on-site support. Youll learn how to deliver service desks, identify and trouble shoot problems and plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and projects. As part of the Level 3 Infrastructure Technician youll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to a range of industry recognised qualifications, in demand by employers as seen in example modules.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a mixture of computer based exams, workplace assessment, online portfolio evidencing examples of your work and a work based project.
Youll need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A C (including English and Maths), a Level 3 Apprenticeship or A Levels with an interest in business and an aptitude for technology.
Progression & Career Opportunities
Following successful completion of the apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Degree Apprenticeship Digital and Technology Solutions Professional. Career progression could include moving to roles including Help Desk Technician, First or Second Line Support, IT Infrastructure Technician, Network Support, Network Administrator.
This apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians confirming SFIA Level 3 professional competence and those completing the apprenticeship are eligible to apply for registration.
