We are the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Wood Occupations - Site Carpentry using the day release model. This means that you will work for 4 days a week and attend college for one day a week. We pride ourselves on our industry-standard facilities and the outstanding support we deliver for apprentices and employers.
What will I learn?
This course will help to develop your technical and practical skills, problem solving, numeracy, literacy, team working and communication.
- First Fixing Before Plaster Work
- Second Fixing After Plaster Work
- Carcassing for Floors and Roofs
- Use of Portable Power Tools
How will I be assessed?
Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments, in college and at your work place, theory assessments, on line exams and a practical synoptic assignment.
4 GCSEs including English and Maths, and be working in the industry. You must show a genuine interest in site carpentry. Entry is also subject to an interview, basic skills screening and initial assessment.
Progression & Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion, you may be eligible to proceed onto the level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship (A-level equivalent). You will be able to work on a verity of carpentry projects including sustainable technology
Apprentices aged between 16 and up to the day before their 19th birthday the course is fully funded.
