Counsellors or trainee counsellors already working with children and young people (CYP) or with an interest in working with this client group and anyone working in a supportive role with CYP, and:
An interest in competences for therapeutic work with CYP Wishing to further their knowledge and personal development Wishing to develop their self-awareness through shared experience and learning
Please note that this course is not available for students under the age of 19.

How will I be assessed?
It is a requirement of each attendee to write a weekly personal learning journal of up to 500 words to be handed in weekly and for which tutor feedback will be given weekly 80% of the course must be attended and 80% of the personal learning journal completed to receive a CPD certificate.

Entry Requirements
This course is open to Counsellors or trainee counsellors or others working in caring professions subject to interview . Personal development and self-awareness can be emotionally demanding and you are encouraged to seek support during the course if needed.

Progression & Career Opportunities
The course is an introduction to counselling children and young people. It provides a certificate for 30 hours continuing professional and personal development. It is not a qualification. The course aims to:
