This brand new and exciting HNC is designed by industry pros to introduce you to a career in the Art department for the Film Industry.
Splitting your time between the Buckinghamshire College Group Amersham Campus and Creative Media Skills state of the art studio base in the heart of British Film, Pinewood Studios, you will meet and learn from some of the most recognised and actively working professionals across many areas, including: prop makers, set dressers, concept artists, production designers, art directors and more!
What will I learn?
You will learn from industry professionals a mix of practical skills that are requested by employers nowadays as well as developing a range of theory elements to support practice and industry etiquette. You will also learn about key digital design programmes and its usage when designing sets and making props.

How will I be assessed?
There are eight units to achieve which will be divided across a number of assignments of both theory and practical work. Across the programme you will have continuous assessment from all those that provide the teaching and learning experience including dedicated tutorials. Each unit is individually graded pass, merit and distinction with an overall weighting given at the end
Applicants need to be 18 and over. It is desirable for students to have attained GCSEs English and maths but applications from candidates with good levels of literacy and numeracy will be considered for mature candidates.
A professional interview and a workshop will be required.

Students who complete the course may wish to continue their progression journey onto the BA qualification or enter the world of work.

This course is in conjunction with our partners CMS at Pinewood, the course is 2/3 taught at Pinewood in a professional environment and 1/3 at Amersham using the expertise of our experienced teaching team.
There will be a requirement to buy some kit. Professional dress at all times.
