This programme will enable teachers to develop knowledge and expertise to effectively carry out the role of qualified practitioner in teaching in FE or in other organisations where education and teacher training takes place. Teachers will be supported to make a significant contribution to quality assurance and quality improvement systems in the organisation and to lead developments in education through innovation and change. This programme will prepare teachers for a professional role in inclusive learning and teaching within colleges and other learning providers and develop the teachers Continued Personal and Professional Development. Teachers will be prepared for registration for QTLS status with the Institute for Learning.
What will I learn?
Identify, evaluate and support the needs of a diverse range of learners, promoting inclusive learning and teaching, including English, mathematics and IT (minimum core). Plan, organise and deliver an extensive programme of learning utilising theories and principles of learning, assessment and communication. Utilise knowledge of curriculum development and government educational initiatives to underpin successive schemes of work. Evaluate own and others teaching practice and engage in a reflective approach to personal and professional development.

How will I be assessed?
Formative assessment is in the form of on-going evaluation of students teaching experience and peer feedback within the classroom setting. Each module contains a coursework based summative assessment. Work will be assessed as Pass/Fail using the Bucks
Level 3 qualification in your subject specialist area. Success completion of the Certificate in Education and Training. Level 2 in core skills of English, mathematics and IT.
Progression & Career Opportunities
Once you have completed the Diploma in Education and Training you will be qualified to teach in the Further and Adult Education Sector. You will have the opportunity to apply for QTLS status. You may be eligible to enrol on the BA (Hons) in Practice Dev Teaching in Further and Adult Education or in the Life Long Learning Sector.
Part-time attendance on the course is Monday afternoon 1:15 until 5:15pm. It is expected that students are present and punctual to all sessions and engage in all activities to demonstrate professional development and commitment to the course.
