Buckinghamshire College Group is the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver this apprenticeship using the day release model. This means that you will work for 4 days a week and attend college for one day a week. At the Aylesbury Campus we pride ourselves on our industry-standard facilities and the outstanding support we deliver for apprentices and their employers.
What will I learn?
Whilst it is preferable for students to complete the IMI Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair before undertaking the Level 3 Diploma, it is not always essential. The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship builds on the foundation knowledge you will already have gained through previous qualifications or experience and furthers the understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostic techniques and equipment.
You will advance from simply removing and replacing basic vehicle components to a better understanding of their systems and function along with the methods and equipment used to diagnose more advanced vehicle faults.
- Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Auxiliary Electrical Fats
- Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Engine Faults
- Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Chassis Faults
How will I be assessed?
Assessments will be carried out both in the classroom and workshop at college. An Assessor will also visit your workplace to provide support, carry out observations of your work and help build your Level 3 portfolio.
Completion of an IMI Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance is preferable but not essential. You must be employed within a workshop for an employer who meets the IMI criteria. Entry is also dependant on a successful interview.
