This programme is for learners who are employed within the health and social care sectors, such as community support, care workers, outreach workers, domiciliary care workers and personal assistants. Aylesbury College is the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver this apprenticeship using the onsite assessment model. This means that your Trainer-Assessor will visit and assess you in the workplace. What will I learn?
We are the largest provider of apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. Our experienced team of Trainer-Assessors works closely with apprentices and their employers, supporting you throughout your apprenticeship. We deliver this apprenticeship using the mixed delivery model. Students work full time in the workplace and attend college for a monthly evening workshop. Evening maths, English and ICT lessons may be required in addition to the workshops. We pride ourselves on our industry-standard facilities and the outstanding support we deliver for apprentices and employers. This is a work-based qualification which covers the skills and knowledge needed to care for others in a broad range of health and social care settings. It is flexible to suit all fields of health and social care.This course is designed to provide you with a deep knowledge of the industry and a specialist vocational qualification.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is continuous, based on assignments, practical work and workplace performance.
Level 2 qualification. You must be working in the industry and have a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Progression & Career Opportunities
This will course will enable you to progress onto Level 4 and 5 in Management and Leadership. Senior Care Worker, Supervisor (Residential) and then into management positions.
You will complete functional skills of Maths and English at Level 2, BTEC Cert Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care and ERR certificate. You need to be employed for at least 30 hours per week and be able to attend workshops/tutorials with your assessor. To gain this qualification, you need to show you have a particular set of skills. You will work with your assessor to identify your current skills and find the best way to gain new skills.
