Following the latest Government guidance around school closures and exam postponements, it is understandable for students to feel uncertain about their next academic steps, but we would like to reassure you this does not affect your application or offer of a place at college.
Time to Apply
Our applications are open and you can apply online now by finding you chosen course and clicking Apply. Once we have received your application we will contact you and invite you to a telephone interview with a relevant member of staff who will have reviewed your application. Following your interview you will receive an email containing details of your offer, please ensure that you accept your offer to secure your place on your chosen course.
Unfortuately we are not able to host our Open Days as per usual. However we have laid on some limited Campus Visits to show that we are still open for your future.
Following the Government guidance, we had to close our College Campuses in March, however we held Virtual Open and Subject Events with our teachers hosting live Q&As. These are really helpful to allow you to choose the right course to apply to.
Exams and Assessments (New Students)
We appreciate that right know the process surrounding examinations can be confusing and worrying. The College remains committed to supporting you to progress to your desired destination, especially during this difficult time.
The Department of Education has announced that this year, students who were expecting to sit GCSE examinations will be awarded grades based upon performance predictions by their school or college.
On Thursday 20th August 2020 the results of GCSE examinations will be released. We will be contacted all our new students with "course offers" by email and asking them to complete an online form to let us know their results.
After this our course tutors will be able to make sure that each new student's chosen course is still right for them. Importantly if your results turn out to not be what was expected, the College will always make sure there is a place for you, perhaps on a lower level course if necessary.
For those who wish to do so, the Department of Education have announced that there will also be an option to sit exams during the next academic year, to improve your GCSE grades.
Please feel free to contact our admissions team by email should you have any questions.
Exams and Assessments (Current & Returning Students)
For our students who are expecting their GCSE results on 20th August 2020, we will be emailing the results to students. This email will go to their student email account and should be in their inbox by 11am. We will post a printed copy of these results to a student's home address which is likely to arrive on Friday 21st or Saturday 22nd August 2020. We ask students to not attend College to collect their results.
The results of other qualifications such as Awards, Diplomas and Certificates are being sent out by post to students as they are received by the College.
Enrolling at College (New & Returning Students)
Following your results the next step is to enrol (join or rejoin) College so you can start your course in September 2020. New and Returning students will be contacted by email and sent a link to complete their enrolment online in late August. This new process will allow students to complete all the elements of joining College at home. More information on this will be sent by email.
