GCSEs are recognised by employers in all areas as a measure of your educational achievements. The qualification mainly involves studying the theory of a subject, combined with some investigative work.
What will I learn?
You will study strategies and techniques used by poets and authors to create meaning in texts. You will also analyse media and non-fiction texts such as leaflets, posters and CD covers.

- Analysis of Media and Non-fiction Texts with Poetry Appreciation
How will I be assessed?
There will be a mixture of coursework and examinations.
An interest in English Language, plus GCSE English Language grade D or above, or an appropriate diagnostic test score.
Progression & Career Opportunities
The course will allow you to progress to Level 3 Vocational and A Level courses. This qualification is an essential requirement for many employees and the transferable skills are highly valued in many occupations including Retail, Marketing, Education, Travel and Tourism, Childcare and many more.
