Do you want a career in working in theatre but dont want to be on the stage? Then this is the course for you! Over the two year course in our fully functioning Theatre and Workshop you will have the opportunity of studying various modules seen below.

  • What will I learn?

    The Level 3 Back Stage Theatre Course offers students a range of industry skills, giving them the opportunity to explore various aspects of working as a professional in a fast paced, exciting industry. This course will introduce you to the inner workings of the theatre industry, mainly focusing Theatre Performances including Musical Theatre, Plays and Dance Performances. You can also have the opportunity to work on Live Music Events, Installations & Exhibitions and Interactive Experiences.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Youll be assessed on a number of assignments each term. The course is internally assessed with the final assignment each year externally moderated by UAL. The final assessments each year provide you with your overall achievement pass, merit or distinction. At the end of the two-year course you will receive a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts which attracts the following UCAS tariff points: Pass 72, Merit 120 and Distinction 168.

  • Entry Requirements

    The entry requirements are at least 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or higher including English and/or Maths. If you are missing English or Maths then you will need to retake the GCSE at college alongside this course. Progression routes from Level 2 are considered.

  • Progression & Career Opportunities

    After the course you can either apply for work in a theatre or theatre company or go on to study at a degree level.

  • Additional Information

    The course is a two year, full time programme and runs over 4 days a week from 9am to 5pm. During event weeks however, students are expected to attend 5 days a week and will often finish late on show nights.
