Feeling unwell or unable to attend college?

If you’re going to be absent, you must call the attendance line between 8:00am and 9:30am, and at least 30 minutes before your first lesson. If you miss this window, you’ll need to call the main reception.

Attendance line: 01296 588649 (Open 8:00am – 9:30am)

After 9:30am, call your campus main reception.

When you call, please provide:

  • Your full name
  • Your student number
  • The reason for your absence

A parent/carer can only call on your behalf in exceptional circumstances e.g. you are too unwell to call.

You must call each day you are absent.

What happens if you don’t report your absence?

If you don’t inform us and miss lessons, your parent/carer/employer will receive a phone call each day you are absent.

If you do inform us, they will receive a text message instead.

Why attendance matters

Regular attendance keeps you on track and is the baseline measure to safeguard you. Our priority is the wellbeing of our students and apprentices. Therefore, we must know where they are. If we don’t hear from you for a full week, we may need to contact external agencies as part of our duty of care.

Got a
question?

Whether you’ve got a question about applying, want to partner with us, need support during your studies, or simply want to speak to someone at your local campus, we’re ready to help you take your next step.
