This exciting and creative course is designed for students who have a passion for make-up in the Performance Arts, Media and Fashion industries. We work with industry professionals and make-up artists to provide you with the skills required for a career in make-up artistry.
This course is a professionally-recognised, international qualification that has been specifically designed to enable you to learn both aspects of make-up and hairdressing from our team of lecturers, who are still working within the industry.
What will I learn?
This two-year course will provide you with a range of skills from basic make-up to special effects which will enable you to provide services to a high level of occupational ability. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with media, performing arts, fashion and photography departments to enhance your communication, styling and creative skills

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the year on both your practical skills and your sketchbook. This will enable you to build a portfolio of evidence that proves your competency and full understanding of the underpinning knowledge of the subjects. An acceptable professional level is required in all areas.
4 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above, one of which must be English or Maths OR successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification including a pass at English and Maths.
It is advisory that you bring a portfolio of make-up work or artwork to your interview.
Progression & Career Opportunities
This course provides suitable progression opportunities to the level 4 HNC in Media Make-up, Prosthetics and Costume as well as university. This course will prepare you with the essential skills and experience you will need as a make-up artist aspiring to work in the creative industry. A make-up kit is a mandatory requirement of the course, alongside uniform and stationery. Full details can be provided at your interview
£95 studio fee will cover the cost of uniform, trips and enrichment. There is an additional kit cost that will be discussed with you at your interview.
