This is an industry led, one-year course, equivalent to four GCSEs, which will allow progression to the Level 3 course or employment. We are working with industry professionals and working prosthetics artists such as award winning SFX make-up artist Neill Gorton from Millennium FX Studios to ensure that this course provides you with the skills you need for a career in this industry.

What will I learn?
This Special Effects course will introduce you to many aspects of film and TV designs ranging from full head prosthetics, ageing, air brushing, body paint, make-up and special effects such as cuts, scars and skin disorders. You will learn how to create aliens, zombies and unworldly creatures alongside other special effects. You will learn to use digital programmes, art skills and photography alongside your 3D skills to design and present your work and create a stunning portfolio and show reel.

Entry Requirements
You require 4 GCSE's at grade 3 (D) and will need to show a sketchbook at interview.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Successful completion of the Level 2 course will allow you to progress on to Level 3 Special Effects Make-up. If you aspire to have a career in industry, fashion, theatre or film/TV these courses will equip you with the essential skills and experience that you will need. Working in the entertainment industry, Media and Fashion industry as a Special Effects Make-up artist.
