We are very pleased with our partnership with Chelsea FC Foundation - our strong link with this professional club and people mean you will benefit from inspiring talks and workshops from guest speakers to ensure you learn the very latest techniques. This link also provides our students with the chance to train at Chelsea's Cobham Training Centre. These courses provide approximately 8-12 hours of coaching per week from highly qualified coaches - two out of three who hold the prestigious UEFA A licence.

  • What will I learn?

    The Level 3 Football Academy is a two year study programme is aimed at students who are considering a career within sport therapy, sports psychology, performance analysis or the health and fitness industry. The course will involve a good combination of both practical and academic elements and will enable you will develop a foundation of skills, knowledge and understandingthat will prepare you to study for a degree in sport and exercise science or health and fitness.

    We are currently working in partnership with New Bucks University and during the course we will visit their high tech Performance Centre, sports therapy centre and training facilities and we also work in partnership with Chelsea FC through our successful football programme who have previous been league champions and now competing in the Tactic League against other College academies.

  • How will I be assessed?

    The Level 3 Sport and Exercise has no exam however you will be assessed through written assignments, presentations and practical assessments.

  • Entry Requirements

    Four GCSEs at grade 4 (C) including maths and English or a Level 2 qualification at merit.

  • Progression & Career Opportunities

    Sport and Exercise Science is an area that continues to grow and now has increasing influence within the sports and leisure industry, with many professional sports teams now employing a range of sport and exercise scientists within a lab and on the field of play.

    Students who successfully complete this course will be awarded the BTEC Level 3 National in Sport and Exercise Science and students who achieve a DMM grade will have the opportunity to study on the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science at our Higher Education partner BucksNew University. While the opportunities following the completion of this course are rich and varied within the sport and leisure industry, generally people who choose this course are looking progressing into Higher Education to find careers within sport and exercise science such as sports therapist, performance analysist, personal trainer, sports psychologist or strength and conditioning coaches.
