This link also provides our students with the chance to train and compete in football tournaments held at Chelsea's prestigious Cobham Training Centre.

What will I learn?
Students will have the opportunity to follow a programme that reflects a professional football academy while completing the BTEC Level 3 Sports Coaching qualification. Students will receive high quality and progressive football coaching sessions delivered by our first-class Head Coach on our superb FA standard 3G pitch as well as compete for the Academy in league and cup fixtures. You will also have the opportunity to develop as a coach.
During the first year you develop your understanding of why people take part in activity and understand physical and mental health, you will also be introduced to the range of career opportunities available within sport. You will also have the opportunity to take part in regular sporting activities throughout your time at college either as part of your course or as part of the BCG Football Academy.
The course will involve a good combination of both practical and academic elements and will enable you to develop a foundation of skills, knowledge and understanding that will provide you opportunity to progress directly into a career or prepare you to study for a degree in sport, health or fitness.

How will I be assessed?
The Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development has no external exam as you will be assessed through written assignments, presentations and practical assessments.
A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or Level 2 BTEC qualifications including maths and English at grade 4 (C).
Progression & Career Opportunities
The sport coaching and development sector continues to grow and now has increasing influence within the sports and leisure industry, with gyms and health club members continuing to grow and many professional sports teams now employing a range of sport and exercise scientists within a lab and on the field of play.
Students who successfully complete this course will be awarded the Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development and students who achieve a DMM grade will have the opportunity to progress into higher education to study a degree in sport, health or fitness.
Students will be expected to purchase the BCG Chelsea FC Foundation Football Academy kit.
Students will attend placements within a range of sport, health and fitness settings. There may be other additional costs for kit, materials, trips and other course related items.
