This is a two-year course, equivalent to three A-levels, which will allow progression to gain a full honours degree at University. This qualification offers a direct pathway into the thriving leisure and fitness industry. Exercise and fitness, coaching, and psychology are core elements of this qualification, offering an opportunity to develop a range of practical sport related skills with the vital underpinning theoretical knowledge. Please note that when you apply for this course you will be applying for the first year, which is known as a 90 Credit Diploma.

The BTEC National Diploma is a vocational and academic qualification. The Extended Diploma is a two year course being completed as a subsidiary Diploma in Year 1, students who successfully complete year one will be able to progress in to year two and the full extended program. You will therefore be enrolled onto the first year of the program for the September start.

How will I be assessed?
You will carry out a range of in-depth assignments and practical assessments to complete this course.
A minimum of 4 GCSE passes including English and/or Maths. (English, Mathematics, Physical Education and Science are preferred). For 2017 entry we are accepting a grade C (current GCSE) or a grade 4 (New GCSE) as a pass. Alternatively we will accept a full Level 2 qualification at Merit grade or above.
Progression & Career Opportunities
The progression from this programme is the Sport HNC or University Degree.
