Level 3 BTEC National in Sport and Exercise Science is a two year study programme is aimed at students who are considering a career within sport therapy, sports psychology, performance analysis or the health and fitness industry. The course will involve a good combination of both practical and academic elements and will enable you will develop a foundation of skills, knowledge and understandingthat will prepare you to study for a degree in sport and exercise science or health and fitness.
We are currently working in partnership with New Bucks University and during the course we will visit their high tech Performance Centre, sports therapists and training facilities and we also work in partnership with Chelsea FC through our successful football programme who the current league champions and now competing in the National Youth League against other professional academies.
What will I learn?
We think it is important that we have a good balance between theory and practical. Learning will take place within the classroom alongisde a range of practical activities to ensure you develop a sound understand of the core elements found within sport and exercise science and such as anatomy and physiology, psychology, biomechanics, nutrition and performance analysis.
Classroom based learning will be supported by visits to the latest sports performance facilities and state of the art gyms together with training on our fantastic FIFA standard 3G pitch.

How will I be assessed?
The Level 3 Sport and Exercise has no exam however you will be assessed through written assignments, presentations and practical assessments.
Four GCSEs at grade C or 4 including maths and English or a Level 2 qualification at merit.

Sport and Exercise Science is an area that continues to grow and now has increasing influence within the sports and leisure industry, with many professional sports teams now employing a range of sport and exercise scientists within a lab and on the field of play.
Students who successfully complete this course will be awarded the BTEC Level 3 National in Sport and Exercise Science and students who achieve a DMM grade will have the opportunity to study on the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science at our Higher Education partner BucksNew University.
