Our Graphic Design & Illustration students recently had the opportunity to work on a live brief with representatives from the Epilepsy Society, gaining a valuable insight into the experience of working with a real client.
Mark Poole and Rebecca Charles visited our Amersham Campus to set the brief and share an overview of the charity's brand, giving learners a better understanding of the expectations, processes and communication involved in professional design projects.
Using the Epilepsy Society's branding guidelines, logo and fonts, learners were challenged to create a range of outcomes, including poster designs, 3D concepts and animations. The project gave them the chance to put their creative skills into practice while working within an established brand identity.
As part of the session, learners also received feedback on the logos they have been developing for their own Instagram accounts. Hearing directly from industry professionals gave them fresh ideas and practical suggestions that they can use to refine and strengthen their designs.
Experiences like this help bridge the gap between the classroom and the creative industry, allowing learners to build confidence, develop their professional skills and gain a clearer understanding of what it's like to respond to a real-world design brief.
A big thank you to Mark and Rebecca for taking the time to share their expertise and support our learners throughout the project
