This exciting and creative course is designed for students who have a passion for theatrical make up in the Performance Arts, Media and Fashion industries. It is a professionally recognised international qualification that has been specifically designed to enable you to learn both aspects of hairdressing and media make-up.
What will I learn?
This course will provide you with the expert skills and techniques to enable you to provide services to a high level of occupational ability. Students work collaboratively with media and performing arts departments, TV studios, fashion, media, external events, and with the close proximity of lead practitioners many students gain professional work skills in industry, which can boost assessment opportunities and broaden communication, styling and creative skills.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed regularly throughout the year, usually on a module or subject basis. This helps to build a portfolio of evidence to prove competence and a full understanding of the underpinning knowledge of the subjects. Assignments, both practical and theoretical, will also be completed. An acceptable professional level is required in all areas, in order to gain certification.
4 GCSE's at Grade C or above one of which must be English or Maths OR successful completion of a Level 2 qualification including a pass at English and Maths. You will be required to bring a portfolio of make-up work or artwork to your interview.
Progression & Career Opportunities
This course provides suitable progression opportunities to the Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical Special Effects Hair and Media Make-up year 2 and then the HND in Theatrical, Media & Special Effects Make-up.
Some kit will be needed for this course such as: Practical kit, Uniform, Stationery, Black lever arch file, Additional accessories.
