Thanks for joining us online for our Mini Online Open Event!
We would love to be able to show you around our Wycombe campus and meet you face to face, however, due to the current circumstances we felt the responsible thing to do was to help keep people safe, and try to give you a taste of what college is like from the comfort of your own home instead!
Hopefully we’ll be able to meet you in person soon, but until then you’ll be able to ‘meet’ our Principal Karen Mitchell in the video below, where you’ll find out what College courses are all about.
Got a question? The event may be over but we can still answer your questions on Facebook and Instagram and the team will be in touch as soon as possible! You can message us on Facebook or head to Instagram stories to ask us something anonymously.
- Our Wycombe campus is home to our Construction Skills Centre with over £7 million investment in recent years. Modern workshops for Carpentry and Motor Vehicle training sit alongside Brickwork, Plastering, Electrical and Plumbing spaces. Sport students have use of a modern gym and a 3G football pitch built with support from the FA to their latest standards. The campus is home to the Future Life Centre, a purpose-built facility designed to help young adults with high needs integrate into society. High Wycombe is a major employer in the region, boasting several business parks and is home to over 4000 companies ranging from e-commerce and IT to healthcare. The biggest employer by far, however, is the automotive industry with over 178 companies listed in Wycombe alone.
- Kath Dunn is our Executive Director for Student Support and Services. She trained as a Careers Adviser following a BA(Hons) in Educational and Social Studies and Religious Studies. She worked initially for a local education authority before moving to a charity delivering careers support to young people and adults across Berkshire. Kath became one of the first community Careers Advisers for the organisation, supporting young people facing barriers in accessing learning and work to navigate support services. She subsequently coordinated adult careers provision across the county.Kath moved to Bucks New University in 2014 as Head of Careers, focusing particularly on support for students from “widening participation” backgrounds and employability in the context of “with Foundation Year” degree programmes.
- All our Level 3 sports and football students at Wycombe Campus have the opportunity to participate in the Bucks College Group Football Academy in partnership with Chelsea FC Foundation. The programme is open to all genders. Formed in 2010, the Chelsea Foundation brings together the Football in the Community and the Education department along with the club’s other charitable and community activities, including our international work and anti-discrimination projects. The Chelsea Foundation works on a broad range of initiatives focusing on employment, education, social deprivation, crime reduction, youth offending and much more.
- Subjects available at this campus include:
