Buckinghamshire College Group is led by a Corporation or Board comprised of governors representing the community, College staff and students. Buckinghamshire College Group is a trading name of Aylesbury College Corporation.
The role of Buckinghamshire College Group’s Corporation is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for our educational and financial performance.
The Board of Corporation is made up of 17 members, comprising 12 independent members from the local and business communities; 2 staff members; 2 student members and the Principal & Chief Executive.
Corporation meetings are held six times a year and governors also attend termly Development Events. We have an established committee structure to assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities. The Committees meet throughout the year to carry out clearly defined roles on behalf of the Board. These are:
Advises on the adequacy of the operation of the internal control systems in the College including, but not limited to, financial controls and controls for securing economy, efficiency, effectiveness and the required standards of governance and management.
Determines the remuneration and related matters of Senior Post-Holders and the Clerk to Corporation.
Search & Development Committee
Considers the Corporation’s membership needs and recommends the re/appointment of governors and co-opted members. It also proposes, oversees and evaluates the training and development arrangements for Governors.
