This qualification is accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) which is the recognised professional body for staff employed in a range of roles in finance and accounting. Members of the AAT are fully qualified accounting technicians.

What will I learn?
This course covers financial team leader skills, including drafting financial statements for limited companies, managing budgets and evaluating financial performance. You will also learn how to do complex management accounting tasks, evaluate the internal control and accounting systems and will have the opportunity to specialise in tax/auditing or credit control.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is external on line exams. Five units(1,2,3,5 and 6) are assessed individually in end-of-unit assessments . This qualification also includes a synoptic assessment that students sit towards the end of the qualification, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.( units1,2,3,4,5 and 6). The results will be graded pass, merit and distinction. All results will be available in six weeks

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of AAT Diploma in accounting, with at least a merit. Good knowledge of English and Math (GCSEs Grade 4 (C) Standard), Good reference /Tutor recommendation. Students enrolling from other colleges or those who have had a gap year/years in their studies would be expected to complete an entrance exam on Advanced Diploma Accounting knowledge.
All applicants are expected to have a minimum of 1 year of industry experience.

You will be able progress directly into employment and self-employment. You can also progress on to Chartered Accountancy awards - this Level provides exemptions on these awards.
You will be able to consider positions within the government sector, banking sector or accountancy practices.
Skills developed through the qualification can lead to employment as professional accounting technician, assistant auditor, assistant management accountant, commercial analyst, payroll manager, senior bookkeeper, senior financial officer, accounts payable and expenses supervisor, assistant financial accountant, cost accountant, fixed asset accountant, indirect tax manager, payments and billing manager, senior fund accountant, senior insolvency administrator, tax supervisor, VAT accountant.

Additional Information
Students are required to become members of AAT. The AAT registration and subscription fee will be approximately £120. Purchase of books are optional.
In order to complete your course you will be expected to study at home at least 3 hours per week.
This course will run on Tuesday & Thursdays, 6pm - 9pm.
