Pathway to GCSE English is a part-time College course designed specifically for Year 10 home-school elective Students.

While focusing on English, this course provides a comprehensive learning experience in a classroom setting. Over a span of 30 to 32 weeks, Students will receive three hours of instruction per week, allowing them to develop a strong foundation in these core subjects. By joining this course, Students will benefit from expert instruction, a structured curriculum, and the opportunity to interact and collaborate with peers in a supportive learning environment. Pathway to GCSE empowers home-school Students to excel in English, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for success in their GCSE examinations.

To be eligible for enrolment in Pathway to GCSE, Students must be registered on the Local Authority Home School Elective register by the Spring term of the same academic year. This requirement ensures that participants are actively engaged in home schooling and seeking to enhance their academic prospects through formal education.

    The Pathway to GCSE programme offers a progressive learning journey tailored to the needs of Year 10 and 11 home-school learners. Year 10 Students will focus on English, and as the Student enter Year 11, they advance to the next level by switching the focus to Maths, preparing them for the challenges of GCSE examinations. Upon completion of the Maths pathway, learners have the opportunity to transition to a full-time College course.

    This progression opens doors to further academic pursuits and a wider range of educational possibilities. Pathway to GCSE equips Students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary for a successful transition from home schooling to College, enabling them to thrive in their further academic journey.
